Welcome

Picture Fresno is a project designed to show Fresnans what they see all the time. Beginning in August of 2009, the Picture Fresno team has been taking photos of this great city in order to publish them to this website and allow the public to guess what the photos are of. The pictures are close-ups of many well-known sites around the city, some of them old and some of them new, and we are asking you to be a part of the project by attempting to figure out of what each photo was taken.

Beginning at 12 noon on October 10, 2009 the photos will be posted here at www.picturefresno.blogspot.com for anyone to see. We are asking that when you think you recognize a photo you leave a comment at the end of that post telling us where you think it is. Once a photo is identified we will update the post with a photo of the whole place/building/site, and additional information about that particular place.

If you would like to be emailed the day before the photos are posted email us at picturefresno@gmail.com and let us know. Also, feel free to comment on this post, especially if you are not familiar with posting comments to a blogspot website.

The way it is going to happen

After a lot of talking and thinking we have decided that the photo posts will work like this:

Saturdays (except for opening day, October 10th, 2009) will have three photos posted, all at 12 noon.
Weekdays there will be two photos posted each day, appearing at 9 am.
Sundays there will be no photos posted.
Opening day, October 10, 2009, there will be 7 photo posts up, just for kicks, and to get this party started.

Comments for all photo posts will be hidden from the public until 5 pm the day that the post went up to allow people to guess without viewing what other participants have guessed.  This also will allow us to moderate what is posted, which we will do just in case there are ever comments that are negative or just plain stupid.
